Arizona State Fair Welcomes Seniors
with Discounted Admission
Young at Heart can enjoy State Fair for just $2
With dozens of spinning rides to offer, over-stuffed animals to win, and plenty of food choices on a stick, anyone can feel like a kid at the Arizona State Fair. To celebrate the young at heart, the Fair is offering $2 admission for Seniors 55 and older on Thursday, Oct. 29 during Senior Day. That's a 60% reduction from the regular Senior admission price.
"So many of our senior residents have cherished childhood memories of the Fair," said Don West, Executive Director. "This day honors their special contributions and importance to the community."
From Noon to 5 p.m., the north stage in the Arizona Lottery Backyard is reserved for our Seniors with special giveaways and entertainment. (Click here for schedule.)
Seniors will receive free rides on the La Grande Wheel and Carousel all day. Some exhibits of interest in the Wesley Bolin Building are the "Fastest Fingers Knitting Contest" at 2 p.m. and a display of Christmas ornaments for the People's Tree. Seniors can also catch Hickman's Eggs "The Incredible Edible Egg" Contest at 7 p.m. in the South Hall Coliseum.
The 125th annual Arizona State Fair preserves the best of the Fair's traditions, while moving forward with 21st century innovations in technologies for education and entertainment. Featuring a variety of fun-filled attractions, activities and rides for all ages and interests, the 2009 Arizona State Fair runs from October 16 through November 8 (closed on Mondays) at its location at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix. www.azstatefair.com
